Home Runs

Hank Aaron holds the major league baseball record for home runs: 755 (although Barry Bonds is closing in fast). On April 23, 1954, he made the first of those homers – off Cardinals pitcher Vic Raschi. Aaron’s career record has been celebrated for decades, as it should be. But each one of those 755 was itself a home run, and deserved celebration when it happened. As you continue – or begin – your path toward preparedness, remember to celebrate the milestones along the way. Preparedness can sometimes seem an overwhelming, scary thing; too big to achieve. But every step closer to safety is worth taking – and it is well established that celebrating small victories is vital for achieving lasting, successful change.
