Learning from the Taxman

April 15th every year, taxes are due in the U.S. To help people file successfully, many types of support are widely available from a diverse array of service providers: free forms and instructions at local libraries; seminars from tax attorneys; community workshops; helpful websites; free software; assistance for low-income filers; and constant reminders of the filing date. Although less universally familiar, many types of support are available to assist in preparedness as well. Make sure your community is aware of the many organizations and programs that can help them get prepared. You could post links on your website, create handouts and fliers, put up phone numbers and URLs, invite speakers, or forward announcements to your email lists. Connect your community to the preparedness support infrastructure.
